On Saturday, November 6, 2010 the Manitoba Theater Centre hosted The Black & White Gala Ball in the Grand Ballroom of the The Fort Garry Hotel. The night was a total success raising more than $90,000 for the Manitoba Theater Centre!  The Fort Garry Hotel provided a fantastic meal and as the night continued more than 400 guests danced the night away to The Danny Kramer Event Band.

On the evening of May 26th, the winners of Travel Manitoba’s Manitoba Tourism Awards were announced at the gala held at The Fairmont Winnipeg. It was a great event that recognized the exceptional individuals in the Manitoban tourism industry.

Soirée was hired by Travel Manitoba to consult on decor for the entrance, the ballroom, and the tables. The theme was Hollywood Glamour. Red, black and gold were key colours on our inspiration board. Centrepieces consisting of red gerbera daisies, white dendrobium orchids and curly willow branches adorned with crystal sat in the centres of each table. Black satin linens were draped over each table and a gold charger plate was the perfect accent at each place setting.

Laurenda Madill, the manager of Industry Development at Travel Manitoba, said: “Soir√©e understood the look and feel we were trying to create for the event and pulled together fabulous centre pieces, glamorous table linens and extra special touches to our entrance way into the gala. Her attention to detail and contemporary style garnered many compliments during and after the event.”

On April 20th, The Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra put on their annual fundraiser Flip for Jazz. When guests walked into the event, they were immersed into the jazz scene: dimmed lights, club style seating, and the sound of instruments tuning on stage. Held at the Delta Winnipeg hotel, guests dined on passed hors d’oeuvres, mashed potatoes in martini glasses and bananas foster served with vanilla ice cream.

The crowd was kept entertained by the sounds of the WJO with special guests Steve and Anna Lisa Kirby.

On April 17, the Misericordia Health Centre Foundation held their annual fundraiser: the Misericordia Angel Ball. The event was held at the Winnipeg Convention Centre, and was a beautiful setting for the sophisticated and “angelic” decor.¬† The linens were provided by Planned Perfectly and the floral arrangements were by McDiarmid Flowers. The night before the event, the Soir√©e team along with the ladies of the Misericordia Angel Ball committee, got the opportunity to get our hands a little green and work with the team over at McDiarmid Flowers to assemble the centerpieces. There were lots of laughs and lots of stories between some amazing women. It was so great to see the committee wanting to be involved in creating what was truly an unforgettable night.

This past Wednesday, Soir√©e Event Planning and Planned Perfectly took part in Riverview Heath Centre’s annual fundraiser Dine By Design. What is unique about this fundraiser is that they invite different design companies in the city to participate by creating vignettes specific to their own industry. Being in the event industry, Soir√©e Event Planning and Planned Perfectly created the ultimate dining experience…and we called it Oasis.

The vignettes were judged by the close to 400 guests, and our display won the People’s Choice Award! We are so proud of our teams for working together to pull off what was truly a work of art.
